EMMA FREEMAN - DIRECTOR

Emma Freeman has been working as a director in television, film and music videos for 10 years.

 

Her short films Blood and Ash, Daphne and Ollie and 2002 Tropfest Best Film, Lamb have screened at numerous Australian and International film festivals including London, Locarno, New York, Cork, American Cinemateque and Palm Springs.

 

For television, Emma has directed episodes of The Secret Life of Us, Last Man Standing, Rush, Love My Way, Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries,Tangle, Offspring, Hawke, Puberty Blues, Party Tricks, all 6 episodes of Glitch and all six episodes of the forthcoming series Secret City. 

 

In 2010 Emma was nominated for an AFI – Best Direction in Television for her work on Tangle and Hawke, for which she won the award. Hawke was also nominated for a Logie – Most Outstanding Telemovie and won the ADG award for Best Direction in a Telemovie.

 

Emma most recently won the award for Best Music Video at the St Kilda Film Festival for Child Bride (CocoRosie).  Glitch won Best TV Drama at the 2015 AACTA Awards.
